Facilitators introduce individuals and groups to the core ideas of Choice Theory® through the Take Charge of Your Life program. This role focuses on accessibility, clarity, and practical application.

You gain access to facilitator resources and support while helping others build awareness, responsibility, and healthier relationships.

Practicum Supervisors

Guiding learning into practice

Practicum Supervisors support participants in both Basic and Advanced Practicums by guiding application, reflection, and ethical use of Choice Theory® and Reality Therapy®.

You help learners integrate theory into real-world practice while strengthening your own depth, presence, and mentoring skills.

Basic Instructor

Teaching core foundations

Basic Instructors deliver the Basic Intensive, supporting learners as they build a strong foundation in Choice Theory®, Reality Therapy® and Lead Management.

You contribute directly to certification pathways while building credibility and confidence as a facilitator within the global WGI community.

Advanced Instructor and Senior Faculty

Leading with mastery

Senior Faculty facilitate advanced levels of training and contribute to the development, integrity, and evolution of the work.

You shape the future of Choice Theory® globally through teaching, mentorship, leadership, and collaboration.

Membership Options

There are two faculty membership options: teaching and non-teaching.

Teaching Faculty

Ideal For

Approved instructors, practicum supervisors, and advanced facilitators actively delivering WGI-approved training.

About Faculty Membership

No. Faculty membership is not open to everyone. Individuals must first complete the full Choice Theory Reality Therapy Certification process and then successfully complete the WGI Faculty Training Program. Faculty status is awarded based on demonstrated skills, professionalism, and alignment with WGI standards.

To become a faculty member, you must:

  1. Complete the certification pathway:
    • Basic Intensive 
    • Basic Practicum
    • Advanced Intensive 
    • Advanced Practicum
    • Certification 
  2. Achieve Choice Theory Reality Therapy Certification (CT/RTC)
  3. Apply for and complete a Faculty Training Program
  4. Receive formal endorsement from WGI

Faculty membership offers:

  • Recognition as an endorsed WGI faculty member
  • Opportunity to teach official WGI programmes
  • Contribution to global dissemination of Choice Theory
  • Access to faculty development opportunities and networks

Participation in conferences, retreats, and professional learning spaces

Yes. You must:

  • Be Choice Theory Reality Therapy Certified
  • Demonstrate competence in Choice Theory®, Reality Therapy®, and Lead-Management
  • Commit to WGI ethical and professional standards
  • Successfully complete Faculty Training

Faculty roles include:

  • Take Charge of Your Life Facilitator
  • Practicum Supervisor
  • Basic Intensive Instructor
  • Advanced/Senior Instructor

These roles reflect increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.

Yes.

  • You must be a current dues-paying WGI member
  • You must annually sign the Faculty Agreement
  • In many regions, you are also expected to be part of your local Member Organisation (MO)

Faculty membership is valid for one year and is renewable annually.

Faculty training includes:

  • Development of facilitation and instructional skills
  • Exposure to training methodologies and tools
  • Focus on ethical practice and professional conduct

Opportunities for practice, feedback, and reflection

Faculty membership allows you to:

  • Facilitate WGI-approved training programmes
  • Conduct Intensive Programmes and Practica (based on your level)
  • Represent WGI professionally
  • Contribute to training and development in your region and globally

Resources are primarily shared among faculty through professional networks and relationships. You are encouraged to:

  • Reach out to other faculty members for support and shared materials
  • Access resources available on the WGI website

WGI is currently exploring the development of standardised training packs, which may be made available to faculty in the future.

WGI does not formally vet or approve training resources.

However:

  • Resources should align with WGI concepts and standards
  • Faculty are exposed to a variety of resources during training
  • It is considered good professional practice to have your materials reviewed by peers

Yes.

  • The new WGI website allows faculty to create and manage their own profiles
  • Faculty can promote training events and programmes through the platform

This supports visibility while maintaining alignment with WGI standards.

Yes. All faculty must adhere to WGI’s Professional Standards and Policies, which include:

  • Ethical conduct
  • Accuracy of instruction
  • Adherence to training structures and processes
  • Professional behaviour in all engagements

These policy documents are available on the WGI website.

Yes, but there is an international courtesy protocol:

  • In countries with a Member Organisation (MO):
    You must contact the MO to inform them and coordinate training, and ensure the training is registered with WGI
  • In countries without an MO:
    You are responsible for informing WGI directly and registering the training

This ensures coordination, consistency, and respect across the global network.

No. Faculty members are independent contractors.

  • WGI does not guarantee teaching opportunities
  • Faculty are responsible for organising or securing training opportunities
  • Training is conducted in alignment with WGI standards and approval processes

Yes. Faculty are expected to:

  • Stay updated with current developments in Choice Theory, Reality Therapy and Lead Management
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Engage with the broader WGI community

Ongoing development helps maintain the quality and credibility of WGI training.

Yes, and it is encouraged.
