The Five Levels of Training

The certification pathway is designed to be progressive and supportive. Each level builds on the last, allowing time for learning, practice, reflection, and integration.

1

Basic Intensive

Foundation and understanding

The Basic Intensive introduces the core principles of Choice Theory® and Reality Therapy®, offering a clear and practical understanding of human behaviour, motivation, and relationships. Participants explore concepts such as basic needs, quality world, total behaviour, and internal control psychology.

You leave with language and tools you can use immediately to understand your needs, improve communication, reduce conflict, and strengthen relationships in both personal and professional settings.

2

Basic Practicum

From knowledge to application

The Basic Practicum is where learning becomes lived experience. Participants practice applying Choice Theory® and Reality Therapy® in real situations through guided exercises, reflection, and feedback.

This level builds confidence and fluency, helping you integrate the approach into your personal life and work while developing greater clarity and consistency in your conversations and interventions.

3

Advanced Intensive

Depth, nuance, and complexity

The Advanced Intensive deepens understanding of Choice Theory® by exploring more complex applications, ethical considerations, and systemic dynamics. Learning expands beyond self and individual interactions to groups, organizations, and classrooms.

You develop greater flexibility and insight, allowing you to respond effectively to resistance, complexity, and emotionally charged situations with confidence and care.

4

Advanced Practicum

Integration and mastery

The Advanced Practicum focuses on refining skills through advanced practice, supervision, and reflective learning. This stage emphasizes integration of theory, ethics, and personal leadership presence.

Participants strengthen your personal and professional identity, increase fluency in the model, and prepare for certification through sustained, intentional application.

5

Certification

Recognition and professional credibility

Certification recognizes your demonstrated ability to apply Choice Theory® and Reality Therapy® with skill, responsibility, and respect for human dignity across contexts within your field of expertise
